Tieguanyin Oolong is renowned as one of the most famous types of Chinese Oolong tea, prized for its unique flavor, aroma, and craftsmanship. The tea leaves are dark green and rolled into tightly knitted balls, a signature of the traditional Tieguanyin style. Upon brewing, it produces a light golden liquor with a delightful orchid fragrance and a nectar-like sweetness.

    Flavor Profile:

    • Aroma: Light and floral with a pronounced orchid fragrance.
    • Taste: Sweet and smooth with nectar-like notes and a refreshing finish.
    • Appearance: Dark green, tightly rolled leaves that unfurl when brewed.
    • Liquor: Light golden in color, offering a pleasant and delicate brew.

    Health Benefits:

    • Heart Health: May help reduce cholesterol levels, lowering the risk of heart disease.
    • Skin Vitality: Helps improve the vitality of the skin, promoting a healthy glow.
    • Immune Support: Contains antimicrobial properties that may fight bacterial infections.
    • Weight Management: Assists in controlling obesity by boosting metabolism.

    Steeping Method:

To enjoy the rich flavor and fragrance of Tieguanyin Oolong tea, follow these brewing instructions:

    • Tea Quantity: Use 5g to 7g of tea leaves (about 1/3 of a gaiwan or teapot).
    • Water Temperature: Heat water to 90°C to 95°C (194°F to 203°F). Lower temperatures help preserve the tea's delicate orchid aroma and prevent bitterness.
    • Steeping Time: Steep for 2 to 5 minutes based on your taste preference.
      • For a lighter, more fragrant brew, aim for 2-3 minutes.
      • For a stronger, more robust taste, steep for up to 5 minutes.
    • Multiple Infusions: Tieguanyin Oolong can be steeped multiple times. Add 5 seconds to each subsequent infusion.

Tip: Avoid boiling the tea leaves in a pot, as it may result in a bitter taste.

    Storage Instructions:

    • Storage: Keep the tea in a cool place, preferably in the fridge, to maintain its freshness.
    • Sealing: Store in a heavy, sealed container to prevent the tea from absorbing odors and moisture.
